Pallbearers carry the
coffin of former Alberta Premier Don Getty into All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral
in downtown Edmonton on Mar. 5. Approximately
600 people congregated for the state funeral that morning to honour Getty, who
died of heart failure on Feb. 26 at the age of 82. He served as Alberta’s 11th
premier from 1985 to 1992. One of his legacies was to establish the provincial Family
